Nvidia GP104 高端核心方面的消息不停傳出，不過除了 GTX1080/GTX1070 外，入門級GTX1060 也不經意的洩露出來，之前傳聞，GTX1060 今年年底甚至明年才能推出，不過據準確的消息，搭載 GP106 的 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 顯示卡定於今年秋季正式推出，時間大約是10月中旬左右。

據 VideocardZ 報導，新的 GP106 核心很小，大約只有 200mm²，專為 GTX1060 定做，內包括 1280 個 CUDA 核心（每組包括 256 個 CUDA 核心）。Nvidia GTX1060 應該有PCIe 供電設計，當然也不排除採用免插電供電，有消息說新的 Pascal 更省電，因此 GP106 卡將不需要額外的電源，省電同時帶來更好的性能。

市場中，GTX960 和 GTX950 已經有免插電版，這種級別未來會越來越強大，足以應付網路遊戲、一般遊戲。GP106 用於替代 Maxwell GM206 芯片。
